Cupping

Cupping
Cupping is a traditional Chinese medical treatment method using glass jars that are placed on selected parts of the body where qi and blood flow need promotion.

For cupping to work the glass jar needs to have the oxygen burnt off within it using a naked flame so as when the jar is placed onto the skin a vacuum is created. This then sucks the skin into the jar and stimulates the qi and blood within and beneath it.

Clients should know that this form of treatment is likely to leave some reddish marks on the body. The worse a person’s stagnation is the darker the marks can become.
